Beach Trip!

We have been back from our trip for a couple of weeks so I guess I need to blog about it:) We went to the beach with Taylor's family for a whole week and it was awesome! His parents rented a house right on the beach and the kids loved being right there to be able to play and even just watch from the porch. The first part of the trip some of the fam was a little under the weather and it rained so we just hung around the house and even went into Wilmington and went to the Chuck E Cheese there which the kids loved..however I must admit that I think the adults had just as much fun!

The weather was beautiful the second part of the week so we were on the beach every day! Taylor had to get a boogie board and skimmer thingy and so we all did a little of that. Terry loved to try and "surf" on the boogie board. There was a lot of sandcastle making. They made a huge alligator, sea turtle, shark and castles galore. Rainey Grace's favorite part was waiting until they were done and climbing on top of the castle. We found some really cool seashells that we brought back to share with Terry's class and even found some shark's teeth.

At night the kids would go for "crab hunts" in which they would take flashlights and go down to the beach and look for crabs! Terry had a ball and loved chasing around those little critters.

Every year when we go on this trip Patti and I do a girls day. We usually go to a spa and get pampered but our day came around to go and we decided we would rather do some shopping and just hang out! I am sooo glad that we did. I look forward to this time with her where we can hang out, talk and enjoy each other. I cherish my time with her so much and am so thankful for her everyday! So, we went out to lunch and found the cutest little shop, where we spent most of our time:)

The guys spent a lot of time surf fishing and playing on the beach. We even got to check out a local museum and found the coolest park for the kids to play. Overall we had a wonderful time and it was great to be able to spend that time with our family! I am already looking forward to next year!
