Fall Recap

I am SOOOO behind on my blog..I hardly know where to start so I thought I could give a quick recap of what are family has been up to for the past couple of months.

In October we went to the OBX on family vacation. Each fall we take a trip with Taylor's family to the beach. This year since Kimrey was only about a month old we decided to go to them. We had a nice big house that we all thouroughly enjoyed and were thankful for! During the week we coooked big meals, went shopping, RG got her first mani/pedi (which she LOVED!), played on the beach, went in the hot tub...followed by the freezing cold pool, played putt putt, went out to eat, loved on our niece, watched movies, went fishing, laughed, talked, gave advice and just enjoyed being together. I think one of my favorte memories will be getting to go deep sea fishing with my husband and bro in law. We had to get up super duper early but it was so worth it to have some time with Taylor doing what he loved! It was actually pretty fun, too! I reeled in one of the biggest fish and caught probably 15 smaller ones. Patti and I always get to spend a lot of time together on these trips which some might not like hanging out with their mil but it is probably one of my favorite things! We had a great time playing with the kids, shopping, going out to eat, and just being together:) I LOVE her and am so thankful for her...especially for making the wonderful son she made. I am so grateful for these memories we make each year and I know that the kids will also cherish these times with their grandparents. I have to add this, Taylor and his dad tried to get Terry to fish and hang out with them and he did pretty good but one day he told Patti and I that "fishing is boring!" haha!

We had a fun Halloween! Thank God we were not sick again this year. Terry was dressed as a park ranger which was probably the cutest thing ever!! And RG was a bumblebee...precious! We did a hay ride around out neighborhood with our neighbors and then walked around trick or treating. We also had our annual playgroup get together which was fun:)

This past weekend Taylor went fishing with his dad and the kids and I went to Concord to visit Lindsay and her family. They moved there about 6 months ago and I am so glad that we went! We did so many fun things and the kids had a blast together--so did the moms:) We went to Discovery place in Charlotte, went to IKEA and Chuckie Cheese. The kids got to spend lots of time playing which was so sweet to watch. They have known each other since Claire was 4 months old and Terry was 6 weeks old. I really appreciate Lindsay opening her home to us:)

Terry is still really enjoying his class, teachers, and friends at school. He really is learning and growing so much. Just today he said to me--
T: Mom, do you know who the Pilgrims are?
me: who are they?
T: They came from England and they came on a Mayflower. It's like a big pirate ship!

Rainey Grace is loving her class too. She really enjoys school and she is learning too! She really likes to pretend to be the teacher. The other day she was playing doll house and I heard her telling her dolls "Line up at the door to go outside and play." and she said, "If a big kid is mean to you on the playground you come back and tell me." ha! I guess she hears that from her teachers.

I think that is about it. This fall has been a busy but fun filled time of year and I look forward to the holidays! Can not wait to put up our Christmas decorations--might have to talk Taylor into helping me over Thanksgiving:)
