Last Sunday we decided to take a little trip to Grifton and go on a hiking trail that Taylor knew about right by the river. We totally skipped naps and rest time and loaded up some snacks and a blanket and went on a little family adventure. It was GLORIOUS! It has been sooo very cold out and we have not been out to play in forever! It was so nice to be outside and to just breathe in the fresh air. The trail was really cool too because it was right by the river and the kids loved exploring (especially Terry). He was our fearless leader up little hills, walking along the river bank and he would hold back the briars so we could walk through. What a gentleman:) We hiked for about an hour and then had a snack time by the water. We saw a few people fishing and a couple canoeing.
There was a little swingset by the campground and we had a ball swinging and playing around! We then made a spur of the moment plan to go to dinner at Sappari--which is my favorite! It was soo yummy and the kids had a blast and actually ate really good too. We had such an awesome day together and I am so thankful to be able to share our love for the outdoors with our kids and hope they gain appreciation for it like we do. Here are a few pics from our day:)
