Ever since went went to the first homegame last weekend Terry has been talking about going to a football game. We decided to give it a try and take him. I had arranged a sitter for Rainey Grace thinking she probably couldn't handle tailgating and football for about 8 hours. Well, at the last minute the night before I decided to cancel the sitter and take her. Once she knew Terry was going, she wanted to go too! And I just felt bad leaving her with a sitter without her big bro. And she had a cold starting so that was another good reason to take her along. So, we packed up the truck the night before and got up bright and early Saturday morning. We left the house around 8:30am and got out to the tailgating field around 9am. I was a little concerned at how both of them would do being outside all day and I thought it was going to be hot and sunny. It turned out to be the most perfect day! It was overcast and cool:)
Taylor took Terry into the game early so he could see the Pirates run out on the field and he said Terry LOVED it! (We only have 2 tickets and since T is over 3 he had to have one) RG and I hung out at our tailgate tent and played legos and babydolls. They came back from the game right before halftime. We hung out some more, played cornhole, football and Terry and Rainey Grace played tag and hide and seek. There was also this electronic pirate at our neighbors tailgate that RG had a blast pressing the button and dancing to. It also didn't hurt that these neighbors had a flat screen in the bed of their truck with the game on:)
In the 4th quarter Terry wanted to go back in the game...and so did Rainey Grace. Taylor took them both in and said they had a blast! He said Rainey was loving every second of it! She was smiling and cheering. Taylor said he lifted her up like a cheerleader and she just thought that was so fun!
We had such a fun weekend going to the game with our whole family, visiting with old friends, cheering on our Pirates, and relaxing today. I have caught that cold RG has so we are hoping we get to feeling better soon!
