My first mission this morning was our closet in the living room. I keep paper items (toilet paper, paper towels), toys, dvd's, kids art supplies, blankets, table linens, books, etc... in this closet and I WISH WISH WISH I would have taken a before shot but did not think about it until afterwards! But yall it was BAD! Toys were just thrown in there all over the floor...that was my main concern was to find a way to keep the toys organized and in a way that Terry would know which place to put things when he was cleaning up. Sooooo..... this is the end result!
All of the bins I got at Lowe's for about $5 and then I labeled them with my lovely Dymo letratag labeler (love that thing!) and put a picture of the item so Terry would know what toy to put in each bin.
The above picture is not that great but it says cars, trains and trucks and has a little picture of each one beside it.
The sweater organizer I had for a while and it was just sitting in the attic so I am storing Terry's art supplies, workbooks, etc in that.
Up top is a bin with DVDs and then below is a shelving thing with table linens and handtowels. Blankets are beside that. On the last shelf are the paper products and more toys.
I am so proud of myself and am going to try to do one space a week to purge and organize. On my list is master closet, RG's closet, (did the linen closet last week but didnt take a pic) coat closet, under sinks, and attic. WOW! I have a lot to do!
So I challenge all of my faithful readers (are there like 5 of you now?? lol) to go in that closet and throw away all the things you dont use anymore and get organized! And so that I can get some ideas blog about it! Believe me, I am far from organized and neat but I am trying!!!
Oh and here is my laundry room, wasnt that bad before, that I just straightened up this morning as well....

Wow!! It looks so great!!! I accept your challenge and Lord knows, living in this small space, I need a challenge to get myself organized!! I'm going to join you in tackling one space a week and then by summer, we will be done!! This is such a great gift to give your kids...teaching them order and responsibility has GOT to pay off later!!
Shelley! You got me girl! I live to be organized... if I can only stay that way! It's so easy to let things "build" up and now you've inspired me for some spring cleaning! :) If only I can find the time to do it. I'll let you know if that happens!
